I am excited to be the new superintendent for Sterling Public schools!

I began my career as a special ed paraprofessional at the Early Childhood Center in Haysville. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Newman University in 1997 and started teaching first grade and coaching high school track in Haysville that year. I was inspired by my principal, Larry Tate, to get my administrative degree and earned my Master's in Educational Administration from Wichita State in 2002. In 2005 I moved to Chanute to where I served as Elementary School principal and technology director for 11 years. While in Chanute I earned my district level certification from Pittsburg State University, which led me here, to Sterling Kansas!

The moment my wife Tracy and I came into Sterling for my interview we felt like we were home. The more time I spend working with our staff and the community to make plans for the coming years, the more I feel like my experiences have been part of a bigger plan to prepare me to be here. I feel like I am where I have always meant to be, and I am excited to see how we can work together to make Sterling Schools the best in Kansas for our kids.
