During our SHARED reading time we are
spending time learning about animals and their classifications. Some of the books we are reading are about
snails, slugs, arctic animals, reptiles and the rain forest animals. Some students are busy at home finding samples
or reptiles, mollusks, amphibians and insects. If your child is curious about the animals
around your house question them about what classification it is and why. We will also be writing poetry about these
animals in language arts time. SHARED reading time we will also be
spending some time with geography. We
will look at landforms and resources. I read to the children everyday and
give them the opportunity to read to themselves or with partners. I have given each child a goal of 12 points
this 9 weeks for A.R. This can be
accomplished by getting about 1.5 points per week. I will never raise this goal of 1.5 per
week as long as your child is reading. |

little challenging but good way to increase vocabulary.
