Hi, I'm  Judy Dowell and I have been teaching Kindergarten at Sterling Grade School since 2001. I graduated from Axtell High School in Axtell, Kansas.  I got my teaching degree right here in Sterling at Sterling College and did my student teaching at Nickerson Grade School.

After getting my Teaching Certificate I did some substituting in the Sterling/Lyons area before moving to California.  I lived in Hayward, just south of Oakland.  I worked in a clothing store and got to see all the sights and sounds of the Bay Area. The biggest thrill was getting to see the Oakland A's play baseball when Mark McGuire and Jose Cansecco were the "Bash Brothers"!

I moved back  to Kansas to take a teaching job at Saint Gregory's Catholic School in Marysville.  I taught fourth grade and learned a great deal on my first full time teaching job.  It was during this time that I married Dan Dowell whom I met at Sterling College.

Dan and I moved back to Sterling where after a few years of working at various jobs I opened Kindernook Preschool.  I operated my own daycare and preschool for 3 years.  During the third year I decided I wanted to get back into teaching full time.  So I spent a wild and crazy spring getting recertified.

I have three beautiful daughters, Dani, Andi, and Niki. We live on the west edge of Sterling wehre we have plenty of animals (pets).
