I was born in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School in 1968. After one year at Hutchinson JuCo, I completed a Bachelor's degree at Sterling College. In June of 2006, I obtained a Master of Teaching degree from Friends University.

I married my husband, Mac, in 1969 and stayed home for several years to raise a family. After teaching English to juniors and seniors for three years at Hutchinson High School, I began teaching sixth grade in Sterling in 1992. Since 6th grade was my favorite year of school, it's fun to think about being in 6th grade forever!

I have two grown sons who both graduated from SHS and K-State. David and his wife Carrie live in Sterling with their two children, Brandon and Lauren. Mark and his wife Amy work in Kansas City and live in Louisburg. They have a daughter, Kate, and a son, Sam.
