School has adopted the Everyday Math Series. I think you will find, as with phonics,
that this math may not look exactly like the math you did as a child. Actually, the math will look similar, but
the delivery will be different. Math will
be approached with problem solving, based on everyday situations. Concepts will be revisited frequently
throughout the year, so if the student does not master it the first time, he
or she will see it again and have another chance later. Games are a powerful learning tool and will
be utilized on a daily basis. My
students usually say that they “LOVE”
math…this speaks volumes to me!
