Explorations in Production Technology is a nine-week course. Learners will be introduced to materials and processes used in the manufacture of common products. Each learner will construct an assigned woodworking project. Completion of the assigned project will require the learner to plan a project, select appropriate materials, and safely use the equipment in the woodshop. Planning will involve the learner in reading a plan of procedures, interpreting working drawings, and developing a bill of materials. Construction of the project will require learners to develop skill in safely machining wood. Upon completion of the required project, learners will be given the opportunity to explore materials and processes used in the production of plastic products. |
