The Sterling High School Choir is a non-auditioned group which currently includes 75 students in grades nine through twelve. The choir meets as a class Monday through Friday, the last half of the 4th hour block. In October the choir is the concluding group at the concert which includes all singers in the district, fifth grade and up. The night before Christmas break the choir performs its annual Christmas concert at the Methodist Church. During the spring semester the choir focuses on league and state contests.

Sterling Singers is an auditioned ensemble of 24 that rehearses on Tuesday and Friday mornings before school from 7:00 to 7:50 a.m. It performs primarily art music, focusing on two major concerts during fall semester and the contest season in the spring.

The SHS Vocal Jazz is a small auditioned ensemble comprised of 6 women and 6 men. They perform a wide variety of music with an emphasis on vocal jazz. The class meets during 1B block. The group is frequently asked to perform at a variety of functions throughout the school year.

The Junior High Choir is currently made up of 64 singers from the student body at Sterling Jr. High. Any junior high student can be a member of the choir, regardless of their singing ability. While in choir the student will experience a wide variety of choral music as well as develop sight singing and ear training skills. The students will have the opportunity to do solo work during the spring contest season.

The Jr. High small ensemble is made up of 7th and 8th graders who choose to be in choir but not in band. Currently there are 26 students in the ensemble. The group works primarily on artistic singing. Individual students are challenged to become better singers each day by working on the fundamentals of good choral tone. The ensemble performs at the same events as the large SATB choir.
