1. The student will be able to define homeostasis and describe its importance to health. 2. The student will be able to name and explain the features and functions of the principal systems that make up the human body. 3. The student will be able to identify the common and anatomical names for various regions/structures of the human body. 4. The student will be able to explain the specific benefits of proper diet and exercise in maintaining good health. 5. The student will work with a partner to prepare and present a lesson dealing with the human body to Junior High or elementary students. 6. The student will be able to recognize and identify common disorders and medical technology and conditions associated with the various systems. 7. The student will be able to explain how the body changes as a person ages and how some of these changes can be delayed.
