Six Sterling Grade School students attended the annual South Central Kansas Music Educator’s District Honor Choir.  It was hosted by Wichita Southeast High School on Saturday, October 26.  All elementary schools in the South Central District could send up to six students from grades 4-6 for this honor choir.  The South Central District includes the counties of Butler, Cowley, Kingman, Harper, Harvey, Marion, McPherson, Reno, Rice, Sedgwick, and Sumner.

The students rehearsed five songs they had memorized and gave a free concert open to the public at noon in the Wichita Southeast High School auditorium.  The guest conductor for the honor choir was Matt Hanne, Director of Choral Activities at The Wichita Independent School. Representing Sterling Grade School were Zachary D., Kadi S., Mikaela M., Cody S., Julia K., and Sydney R.

Congratulations to these SGS students and Mrs. Anthony for earning this great honor!
