This is a completely new position for a completely new situation. To prepare for the possibility of teachers being quarantined during the coming year, we would like to build a pool of classroom aides that could be called to physically supervise a classroom while a quarantined teacher teaches from home. We will figure out the exact duties as we go, but the aide would have to help prepare and pass out classroom materials and supervise the kids for transitions and during work times. There would not be much or any teaching by the aide as that will be done by the teacher. We do not know how many aides will be needed, but we would like to build a list of people willing to be called on when this situation arises. This is not a regular Monday-Friday position. We will call on these aides when needed, and they would typically be in the same classroom for 10-14 days, or possibly longer. Aides do not need a sub license. Applicants will need to pass a background check before starting. The pay is $75/day for an 8:00-3:25 school day.
