Hello Sterling,

Starting Monday, March 23rd we will be providing meals for all Sterling residents aged 1-18 free of charge. We will not be offering adult meals at this time. The meals are "grab and go " and we will provide a breakfast and lunch at each distribution. Due to federal regulations we can only provide meals to students that we see are present to pick up the meals. If you have a child that is sick, and cannot make the trip to pick up a meal please call me at 620-278-3621 and I will deliver a meal to your home.

We are using a  process of distributing the meals that will minimize the likelihood of transmission of the covid-19 virus. It will sound silly to some, but we are doing everything we can to protect the health of our most vulnerable citizens. We will have tables set up at each location at the times listed below. We will put bagged lunches on each table and kids can come up to pick up a sack. Please do not congregate around the serving areas and do not let kids get together in close groups. I understand this may be difficult, but this is what we have to do to continue to provide meals.

The distribution times and locations are:

  • Sterling High School East Side  11:00-11:30
  • Evergreen Park  11:00-11:30
  • Alden, in front of Community Center 11:15-11:45
  • Sterling Grade School East Side  11:45-12:15
  • Peace Park (aka Water Tower Park)  11:45-12:15

Thank you all for your help and support through this crisis!
