The 2026 SHS Boys Tennis team competed in regionals last week. As a team, they were runner-up and qualified for members for the 3-1A State Tournament. The State Tournament will take place on May 15-16 in Prairie Village, Kansas. The doubles team of Ben Bierstedt and Trace DeShon will enter the tournament as a 5 seed and await the winner of the 12 vs 21 seed matchup. In singles play, Jace Darnauer has earned a 4 seed and a first-round bye. Latham Kizzar will play in the opening round as a 12 seed facing the 21st seed.
The 3-1A Tournament participants will be introduced at 10 am on Friday, May 15, with competition beginning at 10:30 am. Those folks traveling to Kansas City in support of the team, the Prairie Village-Harmon Park Tennis Complex is located at 7727 Delmar, Prairie Village. There will be no cost to attend.
