SHS Senior Riley Jaske was awarded a Rudd Scholarship on Feb. 17 in front of the SJSHS student body and staff, as well as representatives from the Rudd Foundation. The scholarship is a 4-year award that covers Jaske's tuition and fees, books and supplies, and room and board.
The Rudd Foundation Scholarship isn't just a check and a dose of hope: the foundation maintains an office at WSU and supports students academically and socially throughout their college career. "The best part of the scholarship is the support and guidance," said Jaske.
Riley cites her counselor, Mrs. Wohler, as someone who "gave me the encouragement to go to college...helping me reach my goals," as well as the entire faculty who have helped her gain confidence while at SJSHS. She has chosen to attend Wichita State University this fall and pursue a degree in Education.
