SGS Back to School Bash is Wednesday from 5:00-6:00pm at the playground. Come join us for a $5 Hot Dog Dinner from Bear Cub Backers ! ($20 max for families of 4 or more) Open house will be from 6:00-6:30. Students will be able to see their classrooms and meet their teachers!

Today's Attitude of Gratitude features Miss Ryan, who begins year 3 in USD 376 teaching Special Education at SGS. In addition, she has been hired as the Head Tennis Coach at SJSHS for both the Boys' and Girls' programs. We're thrilled to have her on our team. #WeAreSterling
Class lists for K-6 are posted on the front doors of the grade school. You are invited to attend the SGS Back to School bash on Wednesday, August 16th from 5:00-6:30. There will be a $5 hot dog dinner and Open House will start 6:00.

Sterling Grade School will be open today from 3:00-6:00 pm for walk in enrollment. New students, Pre School, Kindergarten, and anyone else who wants to enroll in person are welcome. Online enrollment is open for all returning students.
This is a reminder about the parent sports meeting starting at 6:00 this Thursday. Mr. Laudermilk will talk for about 30 minutes and then we will break out into fall sports. Please remember that any student playing a sport will need a physical before the first day of practice. These can be done at you local doctor, a chiropractor or there are walk-in clinics at the Dillon's on 30th in Hutch, or at Xpress wellness in Hutch. You may turn in paperwork to the office during the day this week on Wednesday, Thursday or until noon on Friday. We will also be collecting at the parent meeting Thursday night.

For the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, Sterling Grade School will be offering an at risk, special education preschool program for 3-year-olds. Applicants must be located in the district and be 3 years of age by August 31st. Applicants must qualify under the Kansas State Department of Education At-Risk guidelines or be in need of special education services. Applications can be picked up from the Sterling Grade School Office or you can come to enrollment on August 9th from 3:00-6:00 to see if your child qualifies for services. Substituting at Sterling Public Schools is a fun and rewarding way to make good money! We pay $110 per day to work with our great kids. Anyone with 60 hours of college credit can apply for an emergency substitute teaching certificate. You can choose the days and times that you are available. Even if you are only available a few days a week in the afternoon you would be a big help subbing in classes when our coaches have to leave for competitions. Sterling Public Schools is looking for a full time custodian to work the day shift at SJSHS. The pay range is $15.98-$17.57 depending on experience and qualifications.
