Next Tuesday evening, Seniors and their parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are invited to the SJSHS Theater for the Class of 2023 Meeting. We will discuss events occurring during the Senior year, as well as answering questions from attendees. Meeting is at 7:30P #WeAreSterling #ClassOf2023
Due to a scheduling conflict we are changing this years homecoming date to September 23rd.
Today is orientation day for our 7th graders, our Freshmen, and our new students. Tomorrow, we welcome everyone back for a school year we expect to be Better Yet! #WeAreSterling
This is a sign that summer is officially over, at least for 7th graders, Freshmen, & new students to SJSHS. Student Council is here , with doughnuts, to welcome them and get them off on the right foot. #WeAreSterling
Sterling Grade School Open House tonight from 6:30-7:00! It is a come and go format. Come meet your teacher and see your classroom! Class lists are posted on the front doors. From 5:30-6:30 the Bear Cub Backers will serve hot dogs, chips, and water for $5 per meal.
Tomorrow, we welcome 7th graders, Freshmen, and new students for orientation. The rest have TWO more days. Two is also the number of KSHSAA Championships won last year. Girls' BB finished 26-0 for a 2nd straight 2A title, while Forensics won their 26th title! #WeAreSterling
Three days to go! And 3 is the number of events SHS Vo-Tech students placed in at last spring's State SkillsUSA Contest. #WeAreSterling

Four performance groups at KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival last spring and all four earned I-Ratings. And four is the number of days until the school is filled with over 200 teenagers. #WeAreSterling
Five records fell this spring in Track & Field events at both the Junior High and High School levels. There are also five days until school is officially in session for all students. #WeAreSterling
Six more days until we open up the grade book for the 22-23 school year. Six is also the number of certified staff who are Black Bear Alumni. We also have eight SHS alums who work in classified positions, too! #WeAreSterling
One more week and we're in business on a full-time basis here at SJSHS. Seven is also the number of HOA League Championships won by Bear Cubs and Black Bears last year. And, while not an HOA title, our JH Girls' Tennis team also won the league! #WeAreSterling
Proactive Coaching Sessions today: Students at 4:00, Parents at 6:00. Fall Sports Parent Meeting at 5:30. All in Ora Shields. #WeAreSterling
Eight days of summer remain (if you're a Sevie, Freshman, or new to SJSHS this year, it's 7). Eight also represents the number of events in which SHS students finished in the top four at State FBLA last spring, qualifying them for the National Convention in June. #WeAreSterling

Tomorrow, SJSHS is pleased to host Rob Miller of Proactive Coaching. Rob will share with coaches ahead of a 4:00 student session (all in grades 7-12 invited). At 5:30 is our Fall Sports Parent Meeting. Rob will conduct the parent session at 6:00. All meetings are in the OSAC.
Reminder that enrollment is today for Sterling Grade School from 2:00-6:00 pm. Returning students may enroll online. Free and reduced lunch applications are available online and in the office. We are looking forward to a new school year!
Well, we're in single digits, with just nine more days until SJSHS is back to brimming with students and activity. Nine is also the school record for 3-point field goals made in a single game, established in February by Zach Surface (22). #WeAreSterling
Ten more days until summer vacation calls it good (the weather may not join in, but we're back to school). And 10 is the number of I-ratings earned by SHS students at the State Speech & Drama Festival last May. #WeAreSterling
