Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2022 of a vacancy in the membership of the Board of Education of Unified School District No. 376, Rice County, Kansas, and that such vacancy will be filled by appointment of the Board of Education not sooner than fifteen (15) days following publication of this notice. The appointed member will serve until the next general school board election. Such a vacancy exists by reason of the resignation of Ted Carder.

This week is the Rice County High School Art show and is being held at Studio 96 here in Sterling. There will be many pieces done by Sterling students in the show. Would you like to help make sure our kids have a great start to their school day? USD 376 is looking for bus drivers!
We have one route driver position open. It is contracted for 16.25 hours a week and next year’s rate will be over $20/hour. Route drivers also have the opportunity to drive one or more activity trips per week (sports and fine arts trips, field trips, etc.). All of our buses are in great shape, and two of the route buses have air conditioning.
If you are not already licensed to drive a school bus we can provide training to get your CDL as well as P and S endorsements. If you already have your class A or B CDL, we can provide training to add P and S endorsements.
There is an opportunity for full time if we have an applicant that is interested in doing light bus and vehicle maintenance which could include changing bulbs, making adjustments, doing simple repairs, delivering buses to the repair shop, etc.
